Q: What
exactly
does a Professional Organizer do?
A: A Professional Organizer comes to your residence or business and works with you to to evaluate and remedy any organizing or time management challenges you may have. It could be anything from creating a home or business record filing system to clearing out your garage and finding efficient storage solutions so that you can actually use it to park your car!
Q: Will you make me get rid of a bunch of my stuff?
A:
A Professional Organizer should NEVER "make" a client do something he or she does not want to do. Our role is to educate, guide and support the client. We work
with
and
for
the client.
Q: Will I have to spend a lot of money on new storage containers?
A:
We work within a budget that the client establishes during the initial consultation phase. We offer product ideas at all price points. Often, containers and furniture that the client already owns is put to use in new ways that had not occurred to the client!
Q: Do you do all the work or do I have to help?
A:
Well, it depends. Some clients just want the job done without any hands-on involvement on their part. Others want to be part of the process and learn how to organize themselves so they can maintain the systems we create.
Q: Will my experience with you be like the organizing shows on TV?
A: While TV shows like Mission Organization and Clean Sweep are entertaining and informative, the reality of organizing is a bit misconstrued with them. There is a bit more going on behind the scenes that we don't see on those shows. As fellow Professional Organizer and author Debbie Stanley states, "If real-life organizing is like diet and exercise, organizing TV shows are liposuction".
Q: My whole life is disorganized! How do I know where to start?
A: Well, calling a professional in is the best way to start! We understand how overwhelming it all can be so we take measures to assess your needs based on priorities and create a plan for each area in your life that you would like addressed. Then the plans are implemented one by one. It is our goal to finish one project with you before beginning another. Once the areas are dealt with and you begin to see a difference, the overwhelmingness of it all really lessens. We promise!
